On Wednesday 13th January, Year 1 enjoyed a chilly, but sunny morning exploring the nature trail at Holly Lodge. We were looking at trees and leaves, animal shelters and food for the birds who visit our gardens. These topics are all linked to our science curriculum in Year 1. The children enjoyed the hands-on activities of making a tree, collecting bark, twigs and leaves; making a bird feeder with cheerios and a pipe cleaner and ticking off birds that they saw feeding on the feeders in the trail. They were able to understand the topics they had learnt in class in the real environment.

A great morning of learning and listening.
